Different Types of Granite Floor Tiles

Granite tiles have been a part of the countertop in our kitchens for a long time. And I am pretty sure that most of us like those granite tiles in our lovely and beautiful homes. Unsurprisingly so, because of their long durability, stain resistance and the elegance quotient they add to the homes they're used in.

And in my experience, there are so many variations of granite tiles available in the market, it just get overwhelming sometimes to choose from. In this post, I'm going to talk about the various granite tile finishes.

Polished Granite

Polished granite is probably one of the most commonly used granite tiles around. Finer polishing mediums are used to seal surfaces on normal stone tiles which makes them all polished and shiny. The glossy touch just adds up to the amazing flavor of the polished granite and makes it a treat for the eyes.

Honed Granite

This one's my favorite actually. Many people opt for a honed look which sometimes gives an impression of a buffed or matte surface. This comes with a semi-polished finish too in a number of cases. This one's a keep for your magnificent kitchen counter-top, too. Honed graphite tile also works well if the natural strength and slip-resistance properties are what you're looking for.

Flamed Granite

For those who are in love with nature, this might be the type they're looking for. Top grain layers of the slab is ex-foliated at around 1100 degree Celsius. This kind of finish is good for areas that are prone to moisture and living areas.

These were the main types you should know about granite tiles before choosing the right one for your homes.
